Hi. I once heard that it was possible to do a normal pounce as a dragoon but instead of doing the pounce you can instead chomp the human while in the middle of the pounce. Though this negates the pounce damage. I had this confirmed by a friend but I have no clue on how to do it. I was trying to do it but all it did was come up as pounce damage and kill the human. So does anyone know?
I remembered this (http://tremulous.net/forum/index.php?topic=3595.msg77801#msg77801) reply from about a year-and-a-half ago. Don't know if it works, 'cuz I'm still no good at goon. By slash, I assume the poster means chomp. That is a fairly interesting thread, if only because it was one of the early advice threads that became this sub-forum. Let me know if it helps. :P
You used to be able to do that on servers about 2 years ago but then they all disabled it, or something.

Strange, I managed to do that on a few servers with no problem. I'll check, maybe my mind is getting old.
it's disabled by default now.
it's no longer possible to chomp during a pounce on most servers. the original change comes from tjw's code (it's old enough that i can't tell you when he nerfed it, i hadn't wrapped my head around trem's code yet back then), and has been integrated into almost all game.qvm's that descend from his (which is almost all of them).
theres a glitch though i think, if you pounce and push the jump button at the same time, you perform some sort of "jump pounce" and you can technically chomp while pouncing, it is messed though.
It's not a glitch, all you're doing is pouncing and then jumping, therefore you are simply chomping while you are jumping.

Double jump? I remember seeing a server or two with that feature.

I remember when you could do this pounce-chomp. It annoyed me more than it helped me.
i know some servers where you can still do it. It is a good move in my opinion.
