Title: How do I make...
Post by: Jon Man on January 17, 2009, 06:50:10 am
How do I make my server have infinite build points and no build time?

1) Please don't do that, dude, until you at least play a little more.

2) There is a lovely SEARCH feature, for questions which are asked by new folks repeatedly.

3) Welcome to Tremulous.

What does that have to do with my question?

Jon, get lost already, you do not even know how to play, see other servers.
Do us all the favor and DO NOT try to set up another fracking server on your home-line.

I'm pretty sure Jon is confused at this point, so lets try something different.

Try to use this guide (http://tremulous.net/forum/index.php?topic=3586.0) to help you make your own server properly, if you follow it carefully, you should be able to set up your own server.

1. If your launching it in-game, in your console ( ~ <--This key) and type in "devmap atcs".

2. Next, in your console do "g_humanbuildpoints 9999" (Without the quotes) in the console to make the human's build points turn (pretty much) infinite. For aliens, do "g_alienbuildpoints 9999" to make unlimited bp for the aliens.

Or, if your launching a dedicated server:

1. If your launching a dedi, go to your "C:\Program Files\Tremulous\base" folder or, if its not there, just go to your /base folder.

2. Now. find a file called server.cfg. In it, type in at the bottom on a new line "exec personal\default.cfg".

3. In you \base folder, make another folder called "personal", and in that folder make a text file.

4. Now, open the text file, put in "g_humanbuild points 9999" and on another line put in "g_alienbuildpoints 9999".

5. Launch your dedicated server again, and the effect should take place.

Cheers.

Pretty much what caveman said. I'm sure you're trying to set up a server through "create a server." Just go play on some other spam server if you enjoy this so much.

I must concur. These elements of the game (limited build-points and build timers), are there to add that RTS flavor. I'm pretty sure the OP just wants to build 4 million teslas, or stack eggs to the ceiling, but - it's been done, son. Just play the game the way it was meant to be played.

@Hendrich: You're such a nice guy. But let's not enable every person who visits the forums asking how to set up a crap server. Also, in your first example, Humans only get nine hundred and ninety-nine bp, while Aliens get nine thousand nine hundred and ninety-nine. That hardly seems fair. The Aliens need more.

:P

For your own good, don't build any excessive amount of teslas. Your eardrums will melt out of your head.

Ack, I made a mistake!  *Slaps himself in the face*

Anyways, I know probably giving the knowledge to new users the power to do stuff like make servers in Tremulous has its negative sides (Look at the server list), but I can't help but know how it frustrating it felt trying to figure out this stuff with everybody was giving me the small piece if the bigger picture.
