How do I install mods on a mac?
Please answer!
Thx in advance!

What mods?
-
install mods?
give more details, like for what? server? client?
either way, you can't install mods, you can only execute them (for trem)

Hahaha. That was funny.
Place your mod folder in your Tremulous folder. For example, if you wanted to install TremX, you would put your tremx folder in your Applications/Tremulous folder.

I also can't get any mods to work. Is it because I'm using the GPP? I've even tried hosting my own unpure server to see if they would work, and they don't. :-\

If you are using GPP then you will need a mod made for GPP. (AFAIK there aren't any).
And "it doesn't work" is useless. An error message, or discription of what you did and what did/didn't happen might get you some help.

Yeah, sorry about that. From what I've read on multiple posts, all you supposedly have to do is place the folders in your base folder (for mods for particles, textures, etc.). And nothing seemed affected. I took quite a while looking around for info about mods for GPP, but couldn't find any. Thanks for the help.

If you are talking about gfx mods, those should work on GPP just fine. Most gfx mods are in a .pk3 tho, so which folders are you talking about? Basically the mod .pk3 name has to be alphabetically AFTER data-1.1.0.pk3. Also check the value of /fs_homepath in GPP for the location.

AFAIK all the GPP servers are pure, so it won't work anyway.
-
With cl_autodownloads on, you just have to connect to a modded server and it will auto download and install.

Yes I believe it's gfx. They didn't alter gameplay, just how the particles looked, and I think some of the guns. (Not sure if it actually changed models of guns or not...)
/fs_homepath is in the Trem folder in Application Data. I wasn't sure if you meant to put it in the gpp folder there, or the actual Trem folder, so I put it in both. I guess I'll just tinker with it afterwards and see what happens.
OMG IT WORKS!!!
Thank you guys sooooo much ;D

Ok,
I am having the same problem, I can't get visual mods to work on my Mac. I dump the mod in my base folder, join a server and it wont work. Any ideas?

It won't work on pure servers.

I know that. AussieAssault is a pure server BUT allows some visual mods, as they are actually on the server just not forced :)
-
Well maybe AussieAssualt doesn't have the vismod you're using?
-
I know it does :)
