Title: spdevmap and buildtimer
Post by: Airbard on February 06, 2009, 08:21:52 pm
Two questions:
1.What is the difference between spdevmap and devmap
      2.is there any way to:
a.save a base for multiple use later?
         b.make the build timer shorter(I have tried /buildtimer 0 and /g_buildtimer 0)

1) devmap exists and spdevmap is not a real command?
2)
a) Assuming you're using a somewhat newer server (and you should be), use the layout system. See http://bugzilla.icculus.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2973
b) No build timer is in devmap, like other cheats. Play in devmap mode or change the source code.

I have never heard of spdevmap before but that doesn't say much because until this Christmas i was convinced Christmas was on the 24.

A variety of qvms, such as p-g-qvm, have game altering cvars, such as g_modInstantBuild and whatnot, that allow you to achieve a psuedo-state of devmap. But this used to be considered bad practice on a server.

I meant to say that this used to be widely accepted as a bad practice on a server, and was avoided.

But as the success of some servers has been shown, it doesnt matter what you do to the community at large, as long as YOUR playercount is up.

Hell, if i win the lottery, ill make a server where people register their paypal accounts and get payed 5 bucks every time they win.
