Title: [solved] Most of the graphics disappear in the game menus
Post by: amitst on February 18, 2009, 02:38:34 pm
Hi,

I am using Ubuntu (Ibex) and have installed the game through the synaptic (add/remove programs). After starting the game, in the game menu (after clicking play) while selecting servers or doing any settings, I noticed that most of the screen graphics disappear. Though I can click on the blank space (say over start button) and can go to the next screen (again most of it is blank except scroll bars etc.). If however, I tread carefully and use only keyboard to start the game it starts properly (in local mode) and within the game the graphics doesn't disappear and is perfect (even if I use the mouse). What must be wrong? Also in the Internet mode the list of servers is displayed but the font is not proper (I see square boxes instead of server names). I haven't seen this issue with other games (e.g. OpenTTD, Warzone 2100 run fine).

Thanks in advance,
Amit

I don't know about your graphics problem, but the boxes in server names is due to server admins abusing the fact that the default sorting is by name, and therefore using invalid characters to boost themselves up on the list.
