Commercial can be seen here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sCXqmOerXJA).
In Belgium, one of our best beer brands, Jupiler has this commercial for its newer, stronger beer Tauro. The sound the bull makes, about nine seconds in, is almost identical to the Tyrants taunt.
And I don't think I'm hearing it wrong.. I haven't played Tremulous for over a year but when i saw the commercial, i immediately recognized it.
Is this sound copyrighted? Or is it licensed freely?
I think a lot of the sounds are free sounds from a stock sound CD.
lol remember that dragoon camel?

Freely. Look up the Creative Commons for details. And altough this kind of use
could be a violation of this License if they really had used the taunt, I think it is not used. You know, that "growl" is a very generic sound, I guess if you would watch an average dinosaur- or monsters-movie, you would find dozens of similar sounds in them.
The simpsons used that sound too. remember stampy.
Also i found another sounds
models/weapons/level2upg/electric.wav Command and Conquer Red Alert 2 - Tesla Trooper
sound/buildables/tesla/tesla_fire.wav Simcity 3000 - Electric fence
sound/buildables/repeater/use.wav Command and Conquer Tiberian sun - Banshee Plasma Gun

Are you implying i shouldn't have posted this thread? Because i searched for both "tyrant taunt" and "tauro" to be sure this hasn't been posted previously...
But many topics about Tremulous sounds being used in real life have been posted, especially the marauder sound.

Sounds more like a leopard or some kind of Cat. But yes the dying :basilisk: I hypothesis is a sound of a cat.
Oooh and speaking of the Tyrant taunt:

Wow. They've even got the hurt sound in there at the end of that whine.
I do that rather well, don't you think?
