Title: the hell

seems to only happen on servers running `base' folder. I already audited my PK3s.

Another weird thing that's been happening is I have strange lags in my input, sometimes Trem appears to think that I am holding a key down, or not moving my mouse, and continues to repeat said action (even in chat -- stuff like 'heeeeeeeeey there' happens, even when I press the `e' key once.)

Sometimes xorg screws up, but I haven't had trouble with mouse or keyboard for almost about half a year now.

xorg might be able to corrupt graphics, but it won't make shaders disappear.

If worse comes to worse and you can't find the missing files, or you can't restore the data path, just uninstall and re-download.

All these weird gfx can be caused by a broken shader file (missing a { or } ), in some map/gfx mod maybe.

UsaKilleR has probably got it right. Delete any maps you have recently downloaded as careless mappers can sometimes completely break shaders with a missing "{" or "}".

I was going to say your video card was blowing up, but Tremulous wouldn't know that to throw a warning message like that.

Surely on a pure server those extra sharers in 3rd party maps wouldn't be loaded because of the pure check?

Btw, shouldn't trem protect other shaders from 1 broken shader file? 1 file shouldn't be able to mess up all others.

did you download a corrupted pk3?

The development client has this check since 9 Months, so it should be present in recent client builds (MGdev, Tremfusion, etc.)

I run TF head, so it isn't a broken shader. I removed all graphics mods I had installed, and reverted to a pretty basic Tremulous, and it still occurs, but only on OPP's server.

Try a different client?

remove the offending paks or don't play on unpure servers.

It doesn't happen on other unpure servers.

maybe the evil Pk3 is a hidden file.

the concept of 'hidden' file is not the same on linux.
