Post by: lol on May 24, 2009, 11:33:43 pm
so im kinda gettin close to an alpha release and was goin to take some screenies but when i take them then paste them in microsoft photo they come out extremely darker than seen in game.  even after cranking the gamma up they still the same lol.  how do i get my screenshots to look like they are in-game?

I use the command "screenshot" (not "screenshotjpeg") for my screenshots, and they seem to come out with decent brightness.  The only drawback is that they are saved in .tga format, though GIMP (http://www.gimp.org/) can edit those, so it's not too bad.

First don't use anything made by Microsoft. Their products are peaces of s*** covered with flowers.

Now for your question. If you put the screen shots into and image editor like Photoshop, Gimp, or Paint.net you can just mess with the brightness and contrast. That help me. With my computer it messes up the image when I do the screenshot command so try that first. However if it doesn't work do what I said.

Windows>OS/2>AmigaOS

OS/2 was hot.. until IBM abandoned it. It had real multitasking at a time when Windows only had that kindergarten style "Program1: Me, me, it is my turn!, Program2: No, it is my turn, Program1: NO MINE!!!, Kernel: I am taking away both your toys and I am going to lock the system - silly kids!" multitasking.

OS/2 was pretty much the top OS for about 4 years (as it was released around the time 2/3.1 came out.). It had proper preemptive multitasking (as in modern OSes), could run DOS apps, Windows apps, and OS/2 apps all at the same speed (often even faster than Windows...), not in some dumb 'compatibility layer', but native. Why didn't it succeed? IBM fucking sucks at marketing. Plus the fact Microsoft made a few shady deals with a few companies to get Windows OEM versions on machines shipped out. Basically, OS/2 was 95 (maybe even 98!) at the time Windows was stuck on 3.1.
