See a topic about a added race. Got me thinking. What if the added race was Robotic? Now I only have basic ideas for this. If we did have a robot race... Wat if it has combined tactics of alien and human. You evolve into different machines like aliens but you can only do next to a structure like humans. Now this a bland idea but if mold it out, it can be a working one. Perhaps even added to the game.

"the unvaquished" mod is adding a third race that is based of many things of essence and purity-ish....they are magiestic, if you get what im saying.
and if you do want this to be an idea like that try this:
coming up with calsses/types/weapons/buildings and make sure they balance out with the other 2 races.
then why it would be a good idea to add them.

How about for a back story we can have this:
Self aware robot made by humans. Flied human rule. Made with the directive of killing to aliens. The humans want to dismantle them so they fight the humans as well. Humans no longer use these bots for that reason.
Hey got any idea while writing this. The replicators (Spawns) also serve as the evolve station.

if it wouldnt be so frikken awsome playing as bots it should be a shared technology between the two.
humans and aliens can both build robot factories that just kill structures and enemies without affecting game balance.... much

First of all, try to actually think up some ideas.
Right now your robots sound like humans and aliens, just worse. (They have to evolve near structures = crappy alien.)
This is not original.
Try to put more into this because I'm glad you had an awesome idea about robots, but give us a reason to care.

Man of Tacos: The Unvanquished mod is probably what you're looking for. In fact, a robot model has already been made by Namlusum, as he wants a 3 team mod with robots based on the Unvanquished mod's source (as soon as it's released! SOON).

What he basically means is that we're making the mod with yokaiz and not with robots but maybe with a tiny bit of robots...
