How do you edit a map that is already made like karith?
Well you would obviously need a file to edit. This is a .map file. Some maps (but not all) include the .map in the .pk3 so that people can edit the .map. Arachnid2, for example contains the .map and I have gained much inspiration from that. To get to the .map you simply use some zip program and unzip the pk3. Inside you will find the .map. However, many maps (including, unfortunetly, Karith) do not contain a .map, so if you really wanted the .map you would need to ask the mapper for the .map.
This has probably been answered many times before so you should have searched. Also if you have ever LOOKED at the instructions on how to make a .pk3, the answer should be pretty obvious.
Thanks Moose.
(that sucks that karith dosent have a map file >:( :'()
I don't need help with this now thanks.
i hope your "inspiration" doesn't involve the ctrl, c, and v keys? XD jk

Re: A Little Help Pls. w/ Gradient
You can always decompile BSP with your q3map2 to get MAP file.

^^ What I was thinking. :D
Hey guys how do you make a mirror
show me an example using pics
i learn better that way
Umm, I'll paint you a mental image with my mental paintbrush.
Open Common Textures.
Cast ye eyes upon the list.
Seek out "Mirror".
Apply it to yonder chosen brush.
If that doesnt work, consult this repository of dangerous knowledge, known as TFM
http://tremmapping.pbworks.com/Shader_Mirror
(If you REALLY need pictures, chum up someone who isnt a retard at paint, as I am.)
