Is it possible to make an admin command block for adding something to the admin.log?

so if someone types !apply then it will add something to admin log that says (Player Name) applied for admin.

The code for that is about the same as for David's !summonadmin (http://tremulous.net/forum/index.php?topic=11097.msg170079#msg170079).
