Title: TremX problem
Post by: infestor1 on July 23, 2009, 02:10:16 am
I am having a problem starting up my server running TremX.

This is my startup command

cd /Applications/Tremulous; ./tremded.ub +set dedicated 2 +exec server.cfg +set fs_game tremx

here is where i think the problem is:

InitGame: \timelimit\55\sv_hostname\^1x^3D^7|^6trem^5X\sv_maxclients\20\sv_minRate\5000\sv_maxRate\15000\sv_minPing\0\sv_maxPing\0\sv_dlURL\http://downloads.mercenariesguild.net\sv_wwwBaseURL\http://downloads.mercenariesguild.net\g_suddenDeathTime\35\g_maxGameClients\0\g_unlagged\1000\g_markDeconstruct\0\version\tremulous 1.1.0_SVN1116 macosx-ppc Sep 17 2008\protocol\69\mapname\atcs\sv_privateClients\0\sv_allowDownload\0\g_needpass\0\gamename\tremx\ff\0

Are you using Linux?? Or Windows?

But looks like linux..Well if so, try to /usr/lib/tremulous <-- client, /usr/lib/tremulous-server <--server

Or that might be mac, I guess...

@Archangel: You really aren't helping anyone by putting a link to search or google. I actually searched, but didn't find anything helpful. So please don't reply if you actually aren't going to help.

Well i did search. I don't know what answer i was supposed to get, but i got the answer that the game.qvm and the tremded weren't compatible. I changed my tremded and i still got the same result.

I've tried the Mercenaries guild tremded and this (http://tjw.org/tremulous/mac/tremded.ub) one. What others are there?

odds are the source for the tremx mod you're using has a tremded with it. if you compile you will have a compatible tremded for sure.

@infestor1
Sorry PAL im just a newbie here but Ive seen MAC here http://www.trem-servers.com/index.php?page=downloads (http://www.trem-servers.com/index.php?page=downloads) maybe that could ease your trouble.

You know friend, searching google need a "good keywords" to hit what you are looking for. Try to use common term(for the situation being) most likely used in the situation to hit the document. Try playing combination of keywords, pharse, or the whole question. I do believe, this is the point of Archangel so he is giving the "google search" link.

The harder you try, the most likely you will find it. Dont quit, you'll get it.

Well what i downloaded is a folder which has game.qvm in it and another folder called tremx, which holds the mod PK3s.

What? I can't understand what you're saying. Weren't you trying to  start the server? By menu do you mean you get a blank screen when starting Tremulous, using the TremFusion client? Nothing happens? You have everything put where it needs to be, right?
