I was trying to get the basic instalation up, and it said it would be looking for a GtkRadiant-1.5/trem.game/ directory. Unfortunately, the provided link is broken and the files cannot be obtained.
http://tremmapping.pbworks.com/GtkRadiant1_5-Win32
The ".game" directory
GtkRadiant 1.5 will look for files in a directory with the same name as your .game file. In this case it will be looking in GtkRadiant-1.5/trem.game/. Create this directory. The files that GtkRadiant looks for in this directory can be downloaded in a zip file here.
This zip file contains:
* game.xlink: Links to mapping related documentation.
* default_build_menu.xml: Default compile strings for GtkRadiant's Build menu.
* entities.def: Entity definition file with all the tremulous specific entities.
* default_shaderlist.txt: Lists all the shaders to be loaded by the editor and q3map2.
Extract this archive to GtkRadiant-1.5/.
If everything is in the right place you should find game.xlink and default_build_menu.xml in GtkRadiant-1.5/trem.game/ while entities.def' and default_shaderlist.txt should be in GtkRadiant-1.5/trem.game/base/.
I wanted to know if there was an alternative link, or if these files are entirely necessary in order to make a proper map.

Look at Ingar's NetRadiant builds, they provide what you need.

or just get
http://ingar.satgnu.net/gtkradiant/files/gamepacks/TremulousPack.zip (http://ingar.satgnu.net/gtkradiant/files/gamepacks/TremulousPack.zip)
(radiant 1.5 gamepack, zip content goes into the radiant directory)
and
http://ingar.satgnu.net/tremulous/files/data-radiant-1.1.0.pk3 (http://ingar.satgnu.net/tremulous/files/data-radiant-1.1.0.pk3)
(tremulous support, file goes into the tremulous base/ diretory)

I apologize, i used google and saw the alternatives directed in another thread in this site. The only downside now is that i can't even make a map due to lag :(

If you're using windows right click on the radiant icon, go to properties. Then click the bar named settings, go down and tick the box marked Disable Desktop Composition. Hopefully that should work.
