Title: How to contact tremulous makers?

Hi, I want to know if there is a way to contact the creators of tremulous. Can you help me?

Actually, they're quite active on IRC. Specifically, #tremulous or #mercenariesguild on Freenode.

@iLoveMe: there is a guide here (http://tremulous.net/forum/index.php?topic=9268.0).

Alternatively, you can PM one of them on the forums here or on the MG forums (http://www.mercenariesguild.net/forum), but it will probably take quite a bit longer for them to get back to you.

Prepare a sacrificial ceremony

1) Find a virgin girl and tie her firmly
2) Find an inactive volcano
3) Pray to the Trem Gods
4) Drop the girl
5) Wait for them to appear

If they don't appear, it means you did something wrong or they need more virgins. So repeat the steps until they appear.

note: If you can't find virgin girls, you can try your luck with animals.

they are obviously very busy with developing 1.2, but usually Timbo is on the #tremulous irc.
you can check out mercenariesguild's website for additional information on the developer members.
here you can also find banners what indicate if someone is a developer.

for alternative solution you can also talk to the tremfusion staff for modding help or other ideas, i guess they are more opened for them since the "official" crew is... very cool.

MG is unrelated to the dev team.  A few MG members are on the dev team, and MG provide some material support, other than that no relation at all.
What is it you want?  Odds are good you don't need to talk to the devs, and if you do then if you tell us what you want we can tell you exactly where to go.

I had some questions about the current progress of tremulous 1.2. I also had questions about the copyright of the name. I am developing a mode that will redo quiet entirely tremulous, and add many things. I just wanted to get information.

You can't copyright a name.
It'll be covered by the standard unregistered trademark stuffs.

*sigh*, the poor soul still thinks 1.2 is real. 1.2 is nothing but a conspiracy, like bigfoot or man landing on the sun. Now 2.0, THERE'S something to look forward to ;)

The game itself (the codez) are distributable under the GPL license. See link above.

The artwork is either GPL, or some Creative Commons license.

The name is not subject to copyright, but it can be subject to trademarks. AFAIK "Tremulous" has not been trademarked in this category (computer game), but it's a large world with many countries and anything's possible.

Anyway, I don't think any game dev company would be dumb enough to intentionally swipe the name of a well established open-source game and use it for their own game. I imagine there would be quite a backlash once the story hits the geek news and they'd come out as either stupid or evil (or both).

You don't have to register a trade mark to get some protection.
I think some assets are non-CC in 1.1.0.  There is also the file COPYING which outlines all the bits that are weird licences.

Because of the conditions, the maximum ammount of time you are allowed to rent a sun-appartment is 6 months. If you try to stay longer you may burn to death.

If you were talking about 1.2, then no, there isn't really any publicly announced timeframe or approx date of release. It would ruin the surprise!

I have pmed Khalsa. He told me the same as you all, tremulous 1.2 will be released ... when it is finished. I've then stopped my mod and started developping a new game, but I will keep playing on tremulous.
 Also, I have been playing on tremulous since 4~5 years, with a 5 month pause.

You played it when it was a Q3 mod? If not, you lie (Tremulous Standalone was released on 2006. 2006 + 3 = 2009).

My honest guess, is that if 1.2 doesn't get abandoned, we should see an early *real* prototype of it that runs on its own somewhere in 2013.
