1) The model (err bounding box?) of the alien Egg :egg: does not at all correspond with it's hitbox.
2) The acidtube :acidtube: graphic is misleading as well. Maybe replace it with some gas effect of something?
These aren't serious issues per se. Once known, it is no longer a problem, but still quite misleading for beginners, yes.
And another thing, why don't aliens have an aim dot?
Cheers.

(aliens don't have an aim dot because they don't come with anything to aim)
-
If you want an aiming dot that badly, download a custom hud.
-
(1.2 will have an aiming dot thanks for noticing.)
-
The decision to only have the hitbox for the egg in the bottom was mainly to laugh at noobs who didn't know that.
-
The aliens spawn inside the eggs. The bounding box of the spawning aliens would intersect that of the egg if it were the same size as the model.
-
Then have it cover the whole model until it spawns a player, or implement models to replace bounding boxes. That way, a simple version of the egg model could be used that would basically be a barrel with a hole at the top that opens when a player is spawning.
-
Or you could have dretches launched out of the top, bla bla. The thing is, the egg model looks good right now, and its believable that those thin stretches of skin wouldnt matter much. I think it's ok how it is.

Play trem more. You'll get used to it.

I agree with him on the acid tube. Go play on Wrath's and see how many times people have to tell newbies that the acid tube deals damage based on distance, and it doesn't really matter if they have acid splashing on them from the ceiling or not.
Eggs are are similar. While I agree with Mooseberry, it's still misleading to beginners.

I don't want to doubt Baconizer's statement, but I never knew that acid tube's damage is based on the distance from which they are sprayed on. Can anyone confirm this?

Thank you Odin. I guess my question proved Baconizer's point, but I am puzzled as to how I missed this simply useful piece of information in the past few years of playing, I don't remember seeing it in the official manual or on the forums before, perhaps its on the "updated" manual. Nvm, I'm getting off topic, sorry.

I Agree with the acid tube graphic needing fixing, but I dont think the egg is a huge issue myself.
-
If you didn't know it was an acid tube, you might mistake it for some alien penis shooting green...well, it just doesn't look much like acid. Mmm, I'm done here.

one thing that is truly misleading is barricade's hitbox
