You can view the new Human and Droid menus on under the SHOTS section of tremulous.sourceforge.net right now. My question is, should we have a frame design for the default menu? As of right now the default menu has no borders, no background, and plain green lettering. This seems to be more than adequate right now. But who knows, maybe someone will put the player_intermission entity in a green room, making the letters pretty hard to see. Timbo and myself haven't really decided if it was worth the trouble yet, so I'm asking you, the players, to decide.

For the text, choose a main color (other than black), then outline that with a secondary color (black would work best). For the menu border, a simple thin red line forming a square should work. You don't want anything too bulky, so that you can still see everything that is going on.

Hmm good idea... but that would require Timbo to create another font file, which I don't want to push on him...

The frame design seems adequate but the green lettering is difficult to read. The white and orangeish lettering seems to pop out pretty easily

There are no screenshots of the menu design Ire is refering to. The blue lettering on the human menu is a little difficult to read in the screenshots due to jpg artefacts. It is much more readable in game.

The more menus the better, IMHO. A professional look on every menu, default or not, would be extremely nice. Put in the little extra effort, to make it look the the professional product it really is.

Good point, I'll talk to Timbo about it later...
