Title: /video
Post by: DraZiLoX on October 07, 2009, 09:36:59 am
Hello!

I do /video, and it takes video...

But when i later look my video...its  ~2 times faster than real speed.

Example, reactor spins normally ~1½ rounds in sec, now ~6 rounds per sec.

Thank you :granger:

/video just takes a screen shot every second, so drops tons of frames.
Take a demo, then set cl_aviFrameRate to 30 and record the video.

Or use something like fraps that does a better job of recording video.

A lot of us would use fraps if it didn't lag us to hell.

Surely it doesn't lag worse than /video does?

/record my map
/stoprecord
/demo mymap
/video mymap

---

And btw that cl_aviFrameRate cvar was very usefull.

I setted it to 15 and now its about normal speed.

It's a mjpeg so should be playable by just about anything.  What are you using to view it?  Try vlc, I've never found anything it can't play.

Also what client are you using?  I seem to recall 1.1 had some bug or other that made the outputted file not-quite-right.

Unless the file is corrupted you can try VLC player, as suggested, or you can try this (http://www.cccp-project.net/).

Perhaps Sony Vegas doesn't support that file type? You could try converting it to something else.

I would play normally and record a demo.  Then play your demo and record it with fraps at 60 fps if you can handle it if not then 30 fps.  That'll give you the cleanest solution.  Fraps videos should go straight into vegas, if not there are plenty of ways to convert/alter it including xvid, virtualdub, avisynth(for scripting quality), and programs like xilisoft video converter.  Some of them are free some of them are not, sometimes you can find free alternatives for them.
