Title: BigBrotherBot adaption
Post by: xlr8or on October 24, 2009, 10:48:05 am
Hi. Since tremulous is a q3 based game I'm trying to get an insight in adapting B3 (BigBrotherBot (http://www.bigbrotherbot.com)) to the game. Before I'll be putting in the work I'd like to know if there is interest in the project from tremulous server admins. Also I'd like to see some actual logparts from the game to investigate if it is even possible.

If you're interested in B3 (also an open source project) check out www.bigbrotherbot.com and our forums.

Thanks.

B3 looks like it would help administrators who are in need of a bot that can administrate the server while moderators/admins are afk, I say go for it. Any contribution to Tremulous is appreciated. ;)

It'd probably be very hard to catch most greefers, as out of context a deconer and a well planned base move can look the same.

I had something similar implemented already (patch lying around somewhere). It performed quite well against base decons and griefers, with only issue that you had to extensivelly use whitelists for people. I.e. once you see that the person is all-right, he is immune to the bot. Cuts off about 95% of abuse.

Some qvms already have auto spec and auto kick of repeated tkers/base destroyers.

Lol.

The original admin system was actually a bot that would run on the server, by TJW.

It used to be called TremBot. Had a few interesting features, such as automatic balance and a few things that havn't been seen since.
