At around 6:10, the pronunciation of "Rocinante" (http://blip.fm/profile/srhuston/blip/26702740/Rush-Cygnus_X-1) :P
-
Clip doesnt work for me, but yeah Roci I laughed at his pronunciation, too.
-
Im confused... i watched his last on and had the same problem... is he serious?
-
of course he's serious! this is... tremulous!
-
It seemed the way he pronounciated most of the MG members was different than how I would.
-
What do people see in these videos? ???

What do people see in these videos? ???
Sarcasm, some truth, inside jokes, and a shitload of bloated un-funny humor.
What else do you need to make it to the top of the charts ???

More like 0:44. Ballpark figure I guess.
Rock-Chianti sounds tasty!
Still, what can I say? I thought your name was 'Rocinate' (ros-in-ate).

I thought it was "Ros-sin-ot".
But with a fu-, er, eccentric up name like that, would you expect everybody to know how to pronounce it properly? :P
Anyways, I love how T-Painsaw glorifies Tremulous in such a way it reminds me of those undercover documentaries or those shows where they talk about celebrities.
-
We should totally have a "How do you pronounce your name" thread.
-
lol
I dont think I need that.
-
I always thought it was row-kin-ate.
Of course, this was before I noticed I was reading it wrong. ~_~
-
I was under the impression it was row-sin-an-te
-
I thought it was, "row-sin-on-tay."
-
I thought it was, "row-sin-on-tay."
This is how I said it, but I guess it should be "ross" :)

I believe it is Rah-Sin-In-Tey
Not too hard to pronounce, really.

Henceforth this topic shall be about the pronunciation of Rocinante's name, be located in off topic, and it would seem fitting for people to post soundbytes of them pronouncing his name.
-
I heard it first as the name of Don Quijote's horse in spanish class. No doubt the band Rush borrowed the name from this Mexican tale for the spaceship in cygnus x-1 ( Book One: The Voyage), where the good classic rocker }MG{Rocinante captured the name as his own.
Therefore, I would use standard spanish pronunciation for the name, which I would guess to be Row - see - nahn - tay.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rocinante
-
Rocín in Spanish means work-horse or low-quality horse ("nag"), but also illiterate or rough man
That explains a lot.... ;)
-
/me feels smart because he just listened, and he's been saying it right the whole time :D

Um... wow, I've been really off, I thought it was "Rok-in-Aunt" with aunt not said like ant but like Americans do with southern accents. I always thought it was a pun on astronauts or some kind of "naut" or maybe "Rock in on" or something like that.
Any ways hilarious, didn't even know there was a conspiracy theory with the MG dev team until now!
(ps. at first I didn't acknowledge the last "N" in Rocinante, and I thought it was "Rok-in-Ate")

raw-sin-ahn-tay (http://video.tiscali.it/canali/truveo/2322143456.html) is how Geddy Lee (http://www.google.com/url?q=http://popup.lala.com/popup/432627065038484682&ei=LTgCS5zKGoWysgOZ_LDNDg&sa=X&oi=music_play_track&resnum=3&ct=result&cd=2&ved=0CBEQ0wQoAjAA&usg=AFQjCNHH1X5Lf-cvSiPxRLJeCGLAwzpRWQ) pronounces (http://www.lyricsfreak.com/r/rush/cygnus+x+1_20119975.html) it
and if you've never listened to the entirety that is A Farewell to Kings (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Farewell_to_Kings) in one sitting, don't come back to this thread until you have
