Just mentioned this in IRC. Looks kind of cool. Have to play with it to see what its capable of

Sweet, I remember when I tried to mod Deus Ex and failed, good times. Can't wait to see what kind of mods would pop up with these new tools.

I doubt the possibility of anyone bothering to port/remake/mod/etc Tremulous to the Unreal 3 engine, to be honest. But all things considered, people can dream, can't they? :P

Yes, that was my first thought when I read about it on slashdot.
-
I wouldn't mind seeing some Trem models ported to that engine just for fun. :P
-
Trem models in unreal. They would look ugly.

Redo them then. I say trem moves to UDK. Ensure its place in the future.

The Trem player base will dramatically shrink since a lot of people run the game on their older machines. Sure, a lot of new people might get interested, but the game would not be as versatile.
-
But it would be AWESOME!

I'm not denying that I would love to see a mega-high poly marauder. :D

/me drools at the thought.

it would take at east 2 years for the devs to finish it (unikely i know) an im pretty sure evryone will have upgraded.

It only supports windows so no thank you.

I agree that we should never ever upgrade the visuals in Trem cause what happens if people are using computers that are 10 years old? I'm sure people who have paid a couple of hundred bucks for their computer won't mind playing a game that looks terrible. Nope, I can't imagine them ever preferring to play games that look half decent. That would be some pretty crazy talk right there.

Maybe we could switch to quake 4 in 25-30 years, hopefully a few people will be able to play it.

I still say Tremulous should be on the Doom engine. Or even better, make it on a piece of paper so everyone can play it.
-
