The models aren't used in what your playing right now.  1.2 hasn't been released.

Models, maps, and (most) UI changes will be released with the final (not considering bugfixes and minor updates) release of 1.2 and no earlier.

What's this talk about 1.2 where have I been?~!!? :( All I remember is: Acts me walking into alien base and getting attacked by a tyrant? GAH I feel so lost!!
