OK, so I opened tremulous-gpp.exe. Then, I clicked on some server called ''Bob's Oc Server, (Modded)''. After that, it asked me if I wanted to optionally download some files from superpiss.org, or the like. I was like, nah, I don't think I want to, and I clicked a button that said "Ignore" on it. So then, tremulous-gpp.exe like, totally crashed. I am using Windows Sev'n.
Additionally, I would like to note that when Tremulous crashes, everything still goes all bright, as if some turd set the r_gamma to 2 for the entire Windoze. When that happens, all the text is all hard to read, and the brightliness can't be rectified without resorting to the extreme measure of rebooting. (This bug occurs on various versions and hardwares.)

You can fix the gamma problem simply by changing desktop brightness (right click on desktop, in properties somewhere in Win XP iirc), or even starting and normally quiting trem.

Starting and quitting Trem doesn't fix it for me.

its an annoying bug that's been around for ages.
for linux "xgamma -gamma 1.0" will prob fix it. so will opening nvidia control panel or if your lazy "ctrl alt backspace" theres prob 5 million other ways to do it.
i cant really help with any other OS but changing resolution as suggested prob will reset gamma too.

I'm sure that will help this guy out. <.<
@guy try setting the desktop brightness to normal either through properties like phoenix said or in your graphics card's control program.
Also does tremulous work fine now? Was this just a one time thing or does it crash often?

Starting + closing trem certainly doesn`t work. I guess I will try these other solutions next time it crashes. I could make trem ruin the brightness again on purpose (without crashing), but I`m afraid to do it.
Before when it crashed, it worked a few days without problems. It crashed twice on that day. After that, I haven`t played anymore, because the official server messes up my name icons now, and there aren`t any other good servers.
>>Edits: 1.1 crashed, and I found the way to reset the gamma. I had to find a button, which was called: Reactivate ATI color controls. So I pressed the button, and the bad stuff went away.

I fix the bug by simply turning my monitor off, and turning it back on..
