Hi all,
I guess that i should post this thread somewhere else.. but i need your help....
I've started to play tremulous since last week and I've found some problems.
I checked twice on the website, on the forum. I read everything and tried to understand but nothing helped.
Lastly i chose to open a thread.
So i have few questions, please help:
- What does the game mean by "Updating the old client"?
GUID? Backport? what all of these?

- Many servers use special mods. When i try to use it by myself, some of the commands (that I write on the console) work and some don't work. It also wants me to download the mods somewhere else. Where?
- How can i reset a binding button?
- Should i download the 1.2 beta version?

No. As to the rest, I believe Archangel has a history of being particularly helpful with this sort of inquiry...

The default client you get with 1.1.0 is very old, and you should update by downloading Mercenaries Guild client or TremFusion (http://tremfusion.net) (which I use).
Backport is often used to refer to TJW client (also out of date by now) or any updated client which is backported/compatible with 1.1.0.
GUID is Global user ID and is automatically generated by the newer clients (stored as qkey file), it allows you to !register on servers and get admin levels.
To download mods, you need to set autodownload on with "/cl_allowDownload 1", on newer clients also "/sv_wwwDownload 1" for much faster download speeds. Could you be more specific about which commands don't work?
You can use "/unbind <key>" to unbind a button, but to reset? If you mean reset to default then I'm not sure it's possible without losing all settings at least for a moment. To do this, rename autogen.cfg to autogenold.cfg, start Tremulous (will have default settings at that point) & quit without changing settings, rename new autogen to autogenDefault.cfg and rename old back to what it was, then just open the autogenDefault file with notepad and search for the button, and copy that line to the end of your old autogen.
You should download the 1.2 gameplay preview and try it + give feedback about bugs (don't think you know enough yet to comment on balance), and you can continue playing 1.1 just by using different .exe/shortcut.

I downloaded TremFusion and now everything is good.
And by mods i mean, for an example, the command !d <amount of money>
I don't know which mod include this commands (!rtd, Etc..), just the "!d" one isn't working.. the others are working fine.
And can i add just more 2 questions?
- Do i need to download maps only from the internet? Or can i allow that directly from the game each time i login into a server?
- Where can i find a list of in-game console commands (Player & admin..)?
That's all i need to know. thanks :D!

You should download them from the internet, because it is faster. Tremfusion offers you the choice to do either, ingame. Just select website.

Use !help ingame.
