Attached is an error that for one reason or another several people get when either logging into my server, or after changing a map. Is there any way that we can fix this? Thanks and much appreciated.
Warning: In BMP format, may be a large download for certain users.

Also, whats up with the slow upload for transfer of maps? It will only send at like 8-19kbps...is there any way to improve this?
Thanks

You set wwwdownload on, and upload your maps/mods to a website. Then, tell it to make them download from there instead of the server.
-
obviously you can do that, however...simply put, thats retarded, as the downloadable feature via server was not put there to be neglected.

I opened a bug for this:

I think I remember this error from old gaming days... used to happen on quake2 or quake3 or half-life servers with many clients connected.

This also occurs in Return to Castle Wolfenstein, and Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory. I've never had any errors in Quake 4, when I played it online, and I never played Doom 3 multi.

wtf bitmaps :X

Yeah, I have noticed that this seems to happen more often when the server has a lot of people on it.
-
alright, so what about the slow download? could someone create a patch for that?

No because it is on purpose that downloads are slow. You do NOT want the server bandwidth to be eaten away by one single player without the 20MB map.

There are plans for integrating http/ftp downloads into ioquake3 the same way it's done in Enemy Territory. This is really the only way forward for improving the download speeds, but it's not really a trivial addition.

Actually stof, if you have a good server, that wont be a problem.
Tjw: Thats cool. Also make it so people can p2p, and so you can download from a remote location other then the phyiscal server you're on. Also set it up so you can have a que line.

then place an http server on the same computer than the trem server and redirect the downloads there.
