Title: Tremulous Binds for use with a GamePad
Post by: Kitashi on December 28, 2009, 09:12:44 pm
Some people prefer analog sticks to a mouse and keyboard, so I decided it would be a good idea to set up binds for use with a gamepad.  Below is the download link for the binds, the gamepad configuration file (should someone use the same controller as I use), and the readme explaining how to setup and use the binds.

Personally, I prefer keyboard and mouse, but some people seem dead-set on using analog sticks, so this is for them.  Plus, it's kind of interesting to try a new setup, in my opinion.  I've tested these binds on a gamepad myself, so I know they at least work on my type of controller, but kevlarman in IRC said that Trem doesn't support non-mouse analog inputs, so if someone has a gamepad that doesn't support mapping analog stick axes to mouse axes, they'll have to follow special instructions I added to the readme.

Would be nice to mention the type of gamepad that these binds are for:

These gamepad binds are set up for a PlayStation2-like USB gamepad.  If your gamepad is not like this, these binds may be inconvenient.  If your gamepad lacks 12 buttons (including start, select, and pressing the analog sticks down), these binds will not work.

True, I included that in the readme but forgot to include it in the general description when posting...

Thanks for pointing that out; I switched file hosts and forgot to relink here!  Link is fixed now.
