Title: Suggestion for (human) friendly fire.
Post by: David on January 20, 2010, 03:45:07 pm
I'm suggesting making the amount of friendly fire taken be variable depending on the weapon and the armour in use.  The way I see it the human gear was all developed from years of human warfare, so it stands to reason that it's more effective at stopping energy blasts than giant claws and teeth.

eg light armour can stop the rifle rounds, and absorb most of the las gun damage and say 50% of shotty damage, but does little against bigger guns.  Then the BSuit would block most things but still take some damage from chain, MD and pulse, and lots from flamer and lucy.

So the end result would be less of the accidentally killing each other, but spamming big weapons still kills everyone.

No idea what that would mean for changing alien FF or building FF.

The humans need to take straight up damage from all weapons. None of this silly "my armor should reduce it" stuff...

Aliens have blocking and FF to deal with, humans should at least have significant damage from FF... aliens don't get damage reduction because they have a better alien class and humans shouldn't get FF protection from armor.

Learn to not shoot your teammates. It's seriously not that hard.
