Title: Display errror - not opengl related

Son downloaded game on Ubuntu 9.04.   Game starts ok, picture looks great, except in the middle of the screen there is a note that wont go away stating something to the effect of a display problem and that the Optimum Display is 1024x768.    His computer is set to run at 1024x768.   He is running a Nvidia graphics card w/ the Nvidia drivers.   You can see the game behind the message box and it looks good, very smooth, no texture mapping issues, etc.   

Any help for a Noob would be greatly appreciated.  FWIW - I did use the search function.  I only came up w/ OpenGL issues.

Set the resolution to 1024x768 in the in-game menu.
