Just an idea, but i reckon it would be cool if you started at level 1 and gradually get levels up.
Depending on your level you can get different advantages and upgrades, such as-
1-10 Able to use s3 aliens
11-20 Higher swipe damage and more stamina
21-30 Scope on rifle or las gun- able to shoot longer range and keep accuracy.
These are just some ideas, i thought i would share it.
Please say what you think about it.

I think A is allready like this.
Except you don't actually gain new models are such, so it isn't as good as this even.

Tremulous already mixes two genres: RTS + FPS. And now additionaly RPG? No, thanks.

I thinking about similar thing, but it need precise and detailed description. Mainly problem is balance.

I don't want to ruin it for you but it won't happen...
Feel yourself lucky if they release Tremulous 1.2.
I will come back when they release a version with new weapon models and stuff ... probably in 3+ years to be optimistic
