compared to others 1.2 aliens, yes, however, would be fine compared to the 1.1 aliens.
in 1.2, the advmara is better than gon and tt

i consider the mara the "grenade" of base killing for aliens

its definitely more powerful i wouldn't say overpowered if you spread out your base and have a defender or 2(defending doesn't mean the whole team camps btw should be 1-2 max and rest leaves base) you have no issues with maras zapping since they can only zap 1-2 stuff at a time

It is good for destroying bases but may die really fast if there are more then 2 armed humans and some rets.

I'd say that the mara, like Winnie the Pooh said, makes humans build carefully now too which adds more strategy to the game because you can't clump rets or anything else together if you want your base to make it past AS2. Also referring to Slacker's post it is like the alien grenade. I think it kinda evens it out beecause basekill happens just as fast now with aliens as with humans.

Keep in mind that a murauder should be powerful against a group of s1 humans.  I've heard a lot of humans are op then aliens are op then humans are op, right now everything is fairly balanced with ff on.

I'd not say that Adv Mara is overpowered, I'd rather say that it may seem overpowered in the hands of a skilled player, just as stated above. Yet on the contrary, an Adv Mara can be pretty much useless in the hands of those who cannot really handle one that well. Besides that, it may have a quite high slash-repeat rate but the problem is that it is quite fast and so makes it occasionally harder to hit, especially because it jumps sometimes way too high and so you tend to miss. A skilled person with a Massdriver or Lucifer canoon can easily take it down. So yea, long speech simple meaning, advanced mara is pretty much balanced compared to the human weaponry.

Overpowered against humans - while pro players use it. And i verify this.

Those times i use Adv. Marauder, as bit in-between of above average/rookie player, it does considerable damage to tightly built bases. And died many times when properly built (i. e. turrets covering buildings while far enough from nodes and stuff to zap.)

Spreaded bases manage to get maras quite well, and if pro, they only inflikt heavy damage minus 1-2 turrets. With someone guarding or group of campers

So... devastating in hands of pro, great annoyance for those who knew to use adv. mara, but not enough skills, and only slight nuisance for untrained or someone who's unknown of mara's powers.

Humans have always had to build carefully. A bad human base in 1.1 dies rather quickly, esp in SD. Aliens generally did not require the assistance of defenses nearly as much as humans so building a good alien base is of secondary importance.
