OK I'm fixing my friends pc up and had to change the Resolution to something high(can't remember) on a 1440x900 screen to get fullscreen to work well
Now that I have changed the res, I launch C:\Program Files (x86)\Tremulous\tremulous.x86
And get GLW_StartOpenGL() - could not load OpenGL subsystem
DON'T TELL ME TO UNINSTALL GPU DRIVERS>REBOOT>INSTALL DRIVERS>REBOOT OR UNINSTALL TREM I've done it all, launch tremulous.x86 and get the same thing
Remember this machine is Xp sp2 64
Really need some help here

Open explorer, go to %APPDATA%/Tremulous/base and find the file called autogen.cfg. Open it in notepad and delete the lines that start "r_mode, r_width, r_height, r_customWidth, r_customHeight
-
modify r_mode cvar or remove it from autogen.cfg
itll be in either
c:\documents and settings\your username\local settings\application data\tremulous\base or
c:\documents and settings\your username\application data\tremulous\base
the path might be wrong but meh should help you find the file
another way would be to run trem from a console and add +set r_mode 6(which is 1024x768)
to the devs: would be nice if maybe if the resolution fails it could maybe revert to 640x480(failsafe setting since all systems should atleast support this) that way we don't get questions like this?
EDIT: david beat me to it try his path first :)

Try typing /map atcs in console
Then if you can hit esc and if you can see a third of the window you should be able to see options. Then go to your video options and set it to medium or low or some sort of standard and hit apply and see if that fixes it.

Why don't you add a menu entry in the windows installer that calls tremulous with parameter "+set r_mode 3" or "safe" (should completely skip executing autogen.cfg) ?
-
Safe nukes all settings, so somewhat sucks. A shortcut to lower all the graphics settings could be handy though.
