I have just downloaded Tremulous as I had not heard aboput it before (just come across this website) looking forward to trying it.

Welcome aboard.  The forum has a guide section, and the wiki is a guide (in progress), to help you get started.

Welcome, I would recommend downloading the Tremulous GPP as it is the newest version of tremulous, and is still in beta.
