Title: Librelous - The Future of Tremulous after Microsoft

After the long, internal ordeal the devs have gone through with Timbo and Dark Legion Development regarding the whole Xbox (http://tremulous.net) nonsense -

MG, along with the Majority of the current Tremulous developers, would like to announce Librelous (http://librelous.info):

(http://librelous.info/attachments/2/librelous2.png) (http://librelous.info)

Librelous for all intents and purposes is a fork of GPL Tremulous. Please join us on IRC at #librelous on Freenode, and head on over to the website for discussion and information. The FAQ (http://librelous.info/projects/librelous/wiki/FAQ) probably answers all your questions.

As of this post no MG members (http://index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=84&Itemid=85), nor MG Friends will be participating in "Official Tremulous Development" and strongly suggest you do the same. We are strong supporters of Truly Free and open source software, tell Microsoft and Darklegion Development you are too!

Timbo is a jerk, and deserves the lawsuits, and hate that is coming to him.

I like this idea, but calling it "Librelous" - well, the pendulum is swinging a bit too far back. But up to you, obviously, I'll go sign up over there.

i've considered what trem would be like on a console.

I just wanted to say Khalsa I think you are being a bit rash, and to be honest, ungrateful. Timbo has put a lot of effort into Tremulous over the past 10ish years, and if he wants to do this, he can do this. Since you are obviously important in the realm of Tremulous, I see it as your duty to respect Timbo's wishes so to maintiain the integrity of this community. I, for one do not own an XBOX, but I will be purchasing one as soon as I get the opportunity to do so, and will be buying Tremulous immediatly, so that I can do my best to support Tremulous.

I urge you to reconsider your actions that split this community. Think of what you are doing. Support Tremulous on and in all forms!

At this time I would like to announce the fork of Librelous in a new project called Openlous. Openlous will be distributed with an Apache license. This in an effort to distort the power of GPL-happy nazi developers taking over perfectly good commercial-grade Tremulous. It's clear that Microsoft can see the value of pure Tremulous to want the game in its exclusive repertoire.

Tremulous is dead. Long live Openlous!!

If the whole thing isn't an april fools day joke, (Which it probably is) I'd be willing to help with modeling and such on this project if you don't have enough people.

So let me get a few things off my chest here.
1)I hope it's an april fools joke.
2)If it isn't a joke, why go to xbox? Halo 2 OWNS tremulous ANY day of the week for graphics. Trust me nobody is going to care about gameplay. Look at the noobs playing UrT, UT, Halo, Call of Duty, etc.

3)Timbo has really really failed making a deal with MICROSOFT. Microsoft may be the juggernaut of the internet but
it is slowly dying away, as the company gets richer and more lazier.

I'll say this again. I hope it's an april fools joke, and someone just spent a lot of their - DEVELOPING 1.2 TREMULOUS TIME - to play a joke on us. Xbox is overrated, not everyone likes to play with consoles, and Tremulous would take about 7 years to be comparable to any other graphics-whore game out there. If it doesn't have the graphics, then it'll die along with other crappy unknown, low quality games which may be good gameplay, but looked so ugly on the game cover nobody bought it.

Again, I hope it's a joke. >_>

It hasn't taken from 1.2 dev time, it's even caused more 1.2 work to get done.

So aside from being awesome, it's net gain for 1.2.
