Title: Can't install Tremulous (UNSOLVED)
Post by: TheAmishNinja on April 05, 2010, 04:29:27 am
I just downloaded Tremulous, and its not installing. I am running windows vista, with plenty of computing power, ram, etc. to run it.

I click the executable, it asks me to manually install or something because its not already installed, then after clicking I agree to the EULA, I get to this screen that asks me where to install it. The next button is greyed out. I tried typing a new install path but it remains greyed out. I tried using the browser provided to change the install path but no folder I click, no matter how deep makes the Ok button come up. WTF is going on. I am absolutely tired of stuff not working!!!! I tried for 4 months to install a compiler, ANY compiler, and none of them work. I am no trying to compile the game, that comment is simply an example of things not working right.

 :-\ Strange
I would just get the zip version if it keeps refusing to work end extract the contents manually to a folder.
I'm not sure but you may be able to extract the installer manually with a program eg 7zip.

You probably downloaded the 1.2 beta, ie, the first most link on tremulous.net/files (tremulous-gpp1-installer.exe). If so, then you cant install tremulous because 1.2 beta requires you to have the original Tremulous -> version 1.1.0 (which explains the grayed out button).

This is the direct link to what you should get first -> http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/tremulous/tremulous-1.1.0-installer.exe?download (http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/tremulous/tremulous-1.1.0-installer.exe?download)
If this Link doesnt work, please download the Windows Installer Under the heading Version 1.1.0 (31st March 2006) from http://tremulous.net/files/ (http://tremulous.net/files/)

Hope this helps...
