This is extreme team map making obviously.. an IM or conventional e-mail would make building 2 identical maps on different computers at the same time as a team less extreme!
-
Because i rather talk to the person insted of typing it out.

I am just a little curious how 2 people make a map together.. being online at the same time and working on it at the same time so that they can talk together.... maybe you have it figured out.. just seems like an odd way to make a map to me.

Its not odd at all :) Many people do mapping collaborations, if they dont have the time to a full map by themselves or they are lacking in certain areas, or if they just plain wanna have fun making a map together. Heck, right now at leveldesign.nl they are working on a 5 person collaboration where they each do a secction than pass it to the next person and so on. This sounds like fun

i would love to help but i don't have that talking thing sorry...
-
i cant do teh tech end but i do know design and layout.

Pass the map is usually fun but sadly it churns out horrible gameplay quality maps.

just complete one map then find some pro to optimize it for you (or just hope to find)

Me and Lava Croft are making a map together.
I do the human end, he does the Alien end and then we stick them together.
No colaboration, no discussing either's maps.
:D
Having two people doing a map makes the design style more interesting, as it's much easier for someone else to say 'That's crap, it's all rectangly' than it is for you to think about it.
Having someone constantly critisising the map forces you to build it at the best you can. :3
