Title: GtkRadiant 1.5
Post by: Saturn on May 13, 2010, 03:48:20 am
I'm currently using GtkRadiant 1.5 to accomplish/build a map. I know how to de-select a brush, but how to select it. Is it shift+ left click? Correct me here please. And when I drag a brush on the grid, no texture is seen in the 3D-View.

Yes it is shift+click. This is something that could have taken literally 2 seconds to test.

And there won't be a texture when you drag a brush, by default it is untextured, (although you can change it, many people have new brushes caulk by default) after you have finished laying down a new brush, select it (Shift+click) (If it isn't allready) and select a texture to apply from the texture menu, which should be on your right side of the screen.

Everyone said it was left click D: But thanks

Btw, in this picture, i just dragged something on the grid, and on 3D-VIEW nothing appears, in some videos, they drag some sort of shape and it will appear as a selected untextured shape that they made. Once I drag a box, do I have to right click and go to func_pendulum? Or some type to make a floor :P

Well it sure isn't right click. ::)

As to not being able to see your brush, try zooming out farther, or drag the brush smaller.  (You can't see it while the cam is inside of it.)

it's because you're inside a brush - try moving out by right clicking in the 3D viewer and using the mouse and arrow keys (they act as the wasd keys in trem)
click on "hollow", that should make things easier for you (turns a solid cube into a hollow box)
and you don't have to make it any func (normal floors walls and ceilings are normal brushes, func gives them a function and turns them into entities)
