Title: Tremulous Fails on new Install FC12_64
Post by: j.valeck on May 17, 2010, 06:52:09 pm
Hi,
I wanted to install Tremulous and I installed it using Add/Remove Software the following two items:
tremulous-1.1.0-10.fc12 (x86_64)
tremulous-data-1.1.0-7.fc12 (noarch)

When I try to run Tremulous from the Applications - Games - Tremulous menu I get a monetary message that my monitor is resizing to 1680x1050 60hz then the screen goes black for a few seconds then reverts back to the desktop.

If I run it from a terminal window the first error I see is the following:
running assembler < /tmp/ui.s_ba2DTS > /tmp/ui.o_GyAUdP
done
computing jump table
VM file ui compiled to 6261955 bytes of code (0x7fc4600f2000 - 0x7fc4606eacc3)

UI menu load time = 24 milli seconds
UI menu load time = 16 milli seconds

Hope someone can help

don't use 64 bit tremulous or don't run an ancient client.

I am new to Fedora so I just used the Add/Install app that comes with this OS.Can you point me to a Tremulous package and some instructions on how to install it on Fedora? I am only interested in a stand alone version of the game, not interested in playing online.

Thanks,
Val

http://tremulous.net/files/

And there is no offline version, it's multi-player only.

http://tremulous.net/files/

that wont help much since the installers only for x86
what kevlarman meant is to use a client based on a more current SVN like tremfusion (http://www.tremfusion.net/) or mg client (http://tremulous.net/forum/index.php?topic=9858.0) personally id prob recommend tremfusion
sad to hear though that you uninstalled it this game is quite good dont let the multiplayer only part put you off(i doubt this game would work as a singleplayer game if that was added anyway) and it works great in 64bit linux personally i run fsm-trem in 64bit and sometimes i also use tremfusion with no issues whatsoever
