Title: zip to pk3
Post by: swamp-cecil on May 30, 2010, 05:30:46 pm
i want to get a texture into gtk radiant, and i know by doing that you need to make a compressed folder and make it a pk3 file. when i try to rename it to a pk3 (e.t.c. lol.zip -> lol.pk3) by clicking then waiting then clicking again, ts still in zip format and the .pk3 is just part of the name!

1. I AM using the dot (.pk3)
2. is there something you have to do to use textures in without glitching?

To get a texture in gtkradiant you could put it in a pk3 for for developing purposes you don't have to. You will eventually when you distribute your map but put a folder named "textures" inside you base folder. In the textures folder make a new folder and name it whatever you like (conventially it's the name of your map), then load all the textures into that folder. When you start gtkradiant the name of that folder should be in the list to the left of you textures box. If you add textures you need to reload gtkradiant or double click on the name of the folder again in that list.
