Whenever I try to convert a demo to video it seems to work fine, but when I go to the folder the video's in, explorer.exe immediately crashes. This is in XP and I'm using the GPP 1.2...
I'll type in:
\demo demo0003
\video grangerairlift
\stopvideo
This makes Trem sort of freeze as well when it goes back to the main screen. I can't click anything in it, and the music freezes at this one little clip as well. If I just press a key or click out of it as well, it does the same thing.
Should I be typing something else in instead of \stopvideo, or do I have to let it go through the whole thing?
That's a new one.
Can you post up the console output?
And does the explorer file browser or shell crash?
Umm yeah lemmie try again and I'll post console. The browser itself crashes, taking out all icons and the taskbar at the bottom until it restarts or I manually restart it.
Wrote 700:700 frames to videos/grangertest.avi
And now it worked fine this time, sort of. I had the old file & the new one in the folder, and it crashed, but the new one had a thumbnail showing a frame from the video, while the old one didn't. So I guess it was an error with the thumbnail...
I tried one more time to be sure, and I guess I was pressing a key to stop it, which caused the error. Thanks for the help.
1.1 makes slightly broken files which some programs don't read right. Maybe explorer is one of those programs? Sure shouldn't crash though.

Well, I am using 1.2... And I think each time I made a bad file is when I just hit a random key to stop the video instead of typing
/stopvideo
in the console. It basically caused it to make an incomplete file, and froze up trem that way, otherwise with /stopvideo it works fine.
*Bump*
just throwing this out there: explorer.exe crashes on me too when I try to go to my videos folder in /base, but it's fine if I go to the video through open in like wmp or some such thing.
Possible bug in the /video command or something?
tremfusion was looking into using ffmpeg to encode video into something a bit more modern but im not sure how far they got with it
havent seen alot of updates from the tremfusion team /me wonders what happened

*necro*
You didn't stop the video record properly. Did you just press a key to quit? You have to open the console and type:
\stopvideo
Otherwise it gets a thumbnail error and that's what causes explorer to crash.
lolwut necro??

Oops, My computer has dates all funky atm. Thought this was a little older than it is. Nobody really cares about necro here though, I realize.
I just hit convert and left until it finished converting....
