Title: Battery pack
Post by: cirdan on June 20, 2010, 01:12:52 am
The battery pack is not very useful.

It could add an extra medkit, or at least a medkit which doesn't regain health but stop poison.

the batt pack is very useful it gives extra ammo to energy weapons( like lasgun, mass driver, pulse rifle, luci cannon)

Well, no matter.
I think it's too difficult to balance teams. But it's not a problem, humans adapt with what they got.

most people tend to die before they're able to take full advantage of increased ammo

Then they shouldn't have brought it?

It's value is entirely situational, when rushing the base on a small map, it's of little to no use.  When going hunting on a large map, it can be invaluable.

I mostly use the battery pack for increased ammo/clip, this means that I have more shots to use before I have to reload, which can make a big difference.  Especially with the md facing goons, those 2 extra shots mean a lot.

WoW, that is genius. You should start a guide because I think everyone else who uses the battery pack is missing out.

He's saying there is more ammo per clip... Just saying 'more ammo' could mean it has an extra clip instead of increased ammo per clip.

Wow, thanks, I didn't know that; you did know that, but you missed the point.

Dragoon = 200hp

Mass Driver
5 * 38 = 190 --> <200

Mass Driver + Battery Pack
7 * 38 = 266 --> >200

it would be nice to have a strict 8-bit melody sound when sporting battery packs with non-energy weapons. it would warn noobs, and at the same time it would make the cool ones with chainbattery even cooler.

Mass Driver + Battery Pack
7 * 38 = 266 --> >200

And, importantly,

6*38 = 228 --> >200, so you can even miss a shot and be ok, because, that stuff happens. (Although never to me ofc.)
