Gt-NightStrike keeps kicking me from official 1.2 for no apparent reason other than unfirmness(wtf does that even mean)
any how its uncalled for and rude.
i would condump it but when im kicked under ubuntu it sends me straight to the desktop with trems resolution.
really i think there should be stricter rules for becoming a admin. he has kicked me at least four times. if i had done something wrong a ban would have been placed however as no such ban nor warning of a ban has been presented his admin rank should be stripped. >:(
i hope this will be the last time i get kicked for no reason otherwise ill go back to 1.1 where the nice people are :)

please post demos and a condump if you have them (the official rules does say that you should have one before starting an abuse thread!). Nightstrike is not a level 3 admin at the very moment. Oddly enough, kicking someone for unfirmness is itself unfirm, and is by no means condoned by, well, anyone I think.
Note that this is a serious accusation. Relax and don't let nasty admins get to you. We'll get to the bottom of this though.

I can't post condump under ubuntu because when he kicks me i get kicked all the way to the desktop with trems resolution which is <than my default.
I know to post condumps i have one or two but i don't think they contain any evidence. ill post em if i could find em i have no idea where condumps in ubuntu go to ???
oh and i did double check to make sure that it wasn't a hardware/configuration issue as i can play on EU just fine
EDIT: i found the two that i have of the match but i dont think there is any evidence.

He's not an admin, anyone else who would've done it? Also, are positive that you were kicked? Because it sounds more like a crash to me, but I can't be sure.

for condumps, just copy the whole thing into a [ code ] [/ code ] block. For demos I recommend speedyshare
Also, nightstrike does not recall ever kicking anyone for unfirmness, and he hasn't been L3 for quite a while now. Its also possible another admin was kicking you under a different name maliciously.

i figured it out just rename the file to .txt and you can read it yourself Note: if your on linux just open with gedit or kate or your favorite text editor
i am 10000000% sure its not a crash. like i said i can play EU just fine and any other server.
anyway he gave the impression he was by what he was saying unless his name is not protected on us1 and someone is impersonating him. in which case sorry

those are condumps from my last game... His name is protected on us1, although you can get fairly similar though without tripping name protection. Got any *relevant* condumps?

btw we don't need 20 admins its really unecessary and causes incidents like this one and others im sure.

Honestly at this point, condump or it didn't happen. As I said, he hasn't had admin for a while now. Being kicked *does not* send you straight to the desktop. If it does, its a crash. cl_autorecorddemo 1 might help you in the future. Furthermore, I highly doubt flooding the server with commands has anything to do with this.
Can you at least give me the date and approximate time of one of the alleged kicks?

Dude, you're not being kicked, you've got a bug, I recommend running tremulous from a console program and making a new thread in the troubleshooting forum.

I just checked the banned list, not to mention I'm on right now. No one kicked you, it simply said you connected then immedietly after disconnected.

run tremulous in a console, if that doesn't help you then get a backtrace. Then perhaps someone will be able to help you. Also if you're running linux, the command:
"rm ~/.tremulous/gpp/*.pk3"
will probably help by removing excess .pk3s that could be bothering you (including all download maps!). Otherwise you'll have to consult a mac or windows person to help you. Compiling from svn does not guarantee you freedom from bugs. In fact, for most programs its the opposite.
EDIT: I finally understand why you think you were kicked by nighstrike for 'unfirmness'...^^ I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to lmao now.

Dunno bro, but then again I'm really not in the mood for a circular argument-- Go on the IRC and talk to the devs, let them share their wisdom. I really don't know what to say, but I will say that you haven't been kicked.

Sorry if I've been short with you, but you simply aren't listening. No one kicked you, and unless someone secretly implemented the !drop command into the official 1.2 server no one's been abusing you.
EDIT: If you really don't believe me, try connecting to the server when it's empty and see if it happens again.

Edit: On a productive note. Open up terminal and
cd /usr/local/games/tremulous
./tremulous-gpp.x86then connect to official one and post the output of the terminal after your client crashes from connecting to us1.
You can also try what f50 said, as that might fix your problem:
rm ~/.tremulous/gpp/*.pk3

The name of the error that caused a similar bug for me was "vm create on ui failed". The rm command there did the trick, although I was careful to only remove the maps I didn't care about, no need to go downloading them again IMO.

If you run Tremulous through a terminal, you may see an error message reported by your client. The terminal should stay up after the Tremulous client closes.
On a further note, please realize that you can report administrators who abuse.
Admin Rules
1. Follow Player Rules
Just what it says. Player rules apply to everyone.
If you do your part as a participant, and not as a spectator, administrators will not necessarily get away "just because they can".

I thought nightstrike was my friend. But that doesn't explain how he kicked you when is is only a lvl 2 admin.
