Title: no granger glory
Post by: swamp-cecil on July 16, 2010, 12:35:58 pm
(i know i was told not to post lots of thread, but im safe here)

everyone likes the cute and cuddly granger, but NO ONE respects his work! i think we gotta respect builders more like adding a building kills (constructed buildings gets kills and adds to this total) in whatever tremstats in.

That would be unfair. Aliens would have alot more kills which is unfair. Stage would be get faster. And there would be games taht has grangers only. BAD IDEA.

And not to mention aliens would always decon acid tubes and hives and rebuild them as their own, the same with humans and turrets and teslas.

Indeed. The real satisfaction of being a good builder is when your base repeatedly withstands attacks and rushes from the opposing team. This feature is likely to be detrimental to the game for reasons already listed in this thread.

Points, people. Building kills add points. How about after a building is built it cannot be unbuilt for two minutes by a builder that isn't designated or the OB? Yeah, DBs are corrupt, but on a server with good admin it'd work. Of course, this is full of holes, but I like the idea. Grangers should get some kind of score compensation for sticking behind. How about a few points every time they build an egg off creep? Or an OM? Extra points if the OM is down? Food for thought.  :advmarauder: :turret:

The best (simplest, not abusable, and approximate enough) method for crediting builders that I know of is giving them points per time spent as a builder. The quality of a builder is far too subjective for the game itself to judge.

This. Naturally you'd think building lifetime would be a good thing to factor into a builder's score, but like what CreatureofHell said, people would decon and rebuild and be douchebags about it.
