Title: case battpack?
Post by: swamp-cecil on August 03, 2010, 10:38:28 pm
i dont think its "fair" that energy weapons only get an ammo expander. so possibly something like an ammo belt or something. feedback?

Sure, but then you have to lower the normal ammo capacity to compensate, and rebalance the whole game.

Also an electron is an electron, but I doubt chainguns and rifles use the same bullets.

Well, iirc it's the same damage, why don't we extrapolate that ;)

Anyway, the MD is a `depleted nuclear waste' weapon, not electron based, why does it continue to expand with a battery pack?

Still, physical ammo weapons are fine. They have plenty of ammo as it is.

Most humans don't survive to use all of their ammo. Don't need to change anything.

Well, you need electron energy to 'drive' the blast. It could be just something like a rifle with U-238 shells, but it ain't. Or is it something like a coilgun? Well, we don't have an explanation of physics of Tremulous, so it could be just some electro-nuclear magic or idk.
And without battpack I find MD sort of useless, it cannot even bring down a goon in one clip without battpack.

Hmm, what if we add a secondary attack to the MD. Possibly like a low-powered ION Cannon that does more damage but significantly lower RoF, charges & possibly range. Just a thought.
