Before you spam this thread out with "Have you ever heard of Google?", please know that I have.
I started a server recently for a friend and me to play against some bots. He doesn't live near me, so the server must be an internet server.
I ran the code:
cd /usr/share/games/tremulous
./tremded.x86 +set dedicated 2 +exec server.cfg
but the server doesn't show up in the Internet list when I open up my client. He cannot connect to it either.
What have I done wrong?
Did you forward the respective ports on your router (30720)?
Since it's a 1.1 server, does it show up on: http://master.tremulous.net/list/ (http://master.tremulous.net/list/)?
Assuming the ports are forwarded, he should be able to connect via /connect yourip:port
I don't know what port forwarding is, but I'm sure I could figure it out with a little guidance.
No, it doesn't show up on master.tremulous.net/list
Check this link out to learn about port forwarding: http://portforward.com/ (http://portforward.com/)
You have to port forward to allow others to play with you over the internet.
You may also want to screen ./tremulous.sh
