I thought about an incredible map pack. Like COD6 they have map pack... So I just thought about making a map pack that is put in tremulous and easy too download. But All I have is experience in blender and little in gtk radiant. Same as net radiant. So I made a little map in gtk radiant a while ago and it looked good. So I pretty much know the basic of how gtk radiant work. So I know what too do. But all I need is some help with the texture and the tremulous part.
OK so If your a map maker or a texture person on gtk radiant or you know how to put the tremulous things on the map(like :turret: and :overmind:, and :reactor: etc)... Please help me. All I can do is make the map but not add no textures. So if you can help me with this, we can have a really good map pack too add to tremulous. I have so much ideas too put in the maps I want to create. Just I need help with getting them up, and putting them into tremulous when they are done.
I want too create this so please help me with this.
F1rst18 And please dont give me no tutorials on how to add textures or on how to put the tremulous stuff on the map. Thats why I am asking for help!!!

- Garlio substation
- Spacestation Hirto
- Killimato station
If you want to help me just add your name in your reply and say you want too help and what can you do to help...
And I will be working on this project in a week or two because I have some things I have too go too.
But please still help me and Show me some of your map making skills.

O and the maps are going to be small and reasonable and some big not as big as the pictures you see.

Somehow I knew you were going to post a thread asking for a map pack instead of posting the map pack itself.
All I can do is make the map but not add no textures.
Then the least you can do is give us that much, just to show that you really can do it.
As for those pictures, trust me, Tremulous's graphics aren't quite on par with those. The final product isn't going to look anywhere near that pretty.
And if you think I'm being harsh, I'm just being realistic. If you'd posted this on the Sauerbraten forums, you'd get almost the same response, but harsher- and from everyone.

Then explain it. I think you're the one that doesn't get it, otherwise you would have read my post, instead of spouting off a clichéd one-liner that applies to you more than me. If I'm the one that doesn't get "it", then explain "it" so I "get" "it".

OK, SOOOOOOO>OOOO I just want to make a map pack that looks better then the origional maps on tremulous. But I will need help with it... Those concept images are just ideas. O.K.... ::)

Better then the original maps? I highly doubt you are capable. Or do you mean you want others to make the maps for you? If you are planning to make something as ambitious as this (even if without textures), you'd better get started right now, instead of posting a thread without having anything to show. And it is easier to texture in Radiant then in Blender, shouldn't be a problem for you. Also, out of those pictures, only 3rd is really usable for a Tremulous map.

I know. I know. But it will be a long project thats why I need help on it. So like if I make part of a map, then someone else can finish it, then someone else can put all the extra stuff in it like that, If I can Get people too contribute too making awsome futuristic maps like in the images. Those are just ideas. Like one map in the pack will be a little part of a city if you know what Im saying . So you will be playing in parts of a city and its blocked off from other buildings, thats what will make it small and not too big I guess I will make a little part then give a download link for you guys too texture it I geuss. But Its a good idea, And I want too do it. So who is with me...

I doubt someone actually has time for this when they could be making their own maps - which don't appear here too frequently either.
You ought to learn to map yourself.

Before anyone signs on to this, they'll need to know that you can pull your own weight, which is why I'd suggest doing at least part of a map and posting it before you ask anyone else to help.

OK people you got me. Ok well after an hour of trying too figure out how too put trmulous things into map, I finally figured it out. I just put a reactor in a test map I am making. OH yea.... All I need too figure out is the texturing part. O and thanks allot pazuzu, Jeez. All Im asking is for help ok. You dont have too help you know. So whatever...

You REALLY should go through some of the guides linked to in Mapping Help Center stickies. And texturing is pretty easy considering you can use all the textures from default maps, and apply them per face easily.

OK yea I got that, I just figured that out, and its freaken awsome but the problem is I tried too look at my test map ingame, but I cant get it ingame. I tried this after I start tremulous ---- /sv_pure 0
/devmap Test Thats what I save it as--- Test IDK why it didnt work. The guy in the tut had trem fusion as his background but idk... For now I will just practice on making maps and Can some one help me with showing the map ingame... Just show me a tut or tell me how...

What is your problem? I'm trying to help you by giving you advice that will make people respect you. More. Well, at all. If nobody respects you, nobody will take you seriously, nobody will help you, and your project will fail. Posting a thread with nothing but mock-ups you found somewhere, then asking people to make maps that look like them, isn't a great way to gain respect in any community. This isn't me being mean, this is the truth. And before you say something about me "not getting it", read what I just said. If you still think I "don't get it", read it again.

For someone so new to the community, you definitely have a lot of expectations as to what people will do for you. Making maps takes time, ask anyone. A Spork spent a month before he released an alpha of his map, and that wasnt even half the size of the things you're thinking of. Maybe before trying to rally the support of others, you should volunteer to help out on existing projects. That may help you to gain popularity. You may want to spend some time learning how to map for trem, posting screenshots of your work in progress before proposing a huge mapping project where 3 and 4 year members of the community should follow your lead.

I would point out all the problems in your post, but other people already have, so I'll just ask a question.
Do you actually expect this to succeed? Surely you must be pulling our legs here? Do you not understand, you come here, not well known, say you don't have skills, but can other people please make a lot of maps better than tremulous default and show some pictures which are of cities OUTSIDE, something that not only can not happen well in Tremulous for graphics reasons, would not work at all gameplaywise either. Do you comprehend how honestly ridiculous this is?

As DASPRiD showed us with ancient remains and temple, both of which are cool maps, outdoor maps dont really work with trem, for a number of reasons.

Well then discard this post and dont read it. All I wanted too do was to make a couple of maps and make the tremulous but look were im at now. No one will hep me, people arguing with me for no common reason. But I get it, Whatever. I will just figure this stuff all on my own. Look, any Call of duty past the second one should not even be compared to trem. They run on different engines and cost a whole bunch of money. Now go learn how to map, and release a few before trying to bring this together.

Thanks. I did. Its like a small city with walls on the outside. Looks too dang simple I didnt want to post any pics. But yea its just a simple concept of the small city I will make in gtk radiant... so here is my first idea of the first map I will start on when I get back from vacation... My sis is getting married. -- So the first map will be a small district in a futuristic city, The district is closed off due too destruction and nesting of aliens. So There will be a ship on a rooftop of one of the buildings where the human base is. If I can figure out why my blender .map exporter wont work then I can Export maps from blender or especially models. Like ships. Yea my blender .map export dosnt work... I exported just a map file, it had just a cube and stairs in it and it didnt work... IDK why..

The city looks pretty cool. You definitely need to add more detail+texturing.

While your intentions are good, the maps you want wont work well with trem...

Those are pretty much the limit that trem has before FPS issues, let alone game issues. Q3 engine basically only allows hallway/small room spam. Outdoor maps lag...

Quake engine is like Doom engine, same restrictions. Rooms look great, but no support for big, giant halls.
