Id say that if you altready know moding, just make the map in blender and save it as an md3.  Then use spawnflags to make all the surfaces solid. Prohably much easier if youre already good at blender

NO. If you want to clip a model, you should do it manually with brushes, unless it is very basic. Also texturing is easier with brushes.

true, but if he'd already skinned the md3, then he wouldnt have to texture brushes.

I personally prefer GTK, but they're pretty similar really.

I personally prefer GTK Radiant, but they're pretty similar really.
NET Radiant is merely a version of GTK Radiant (1.5?) with bug fixes and some nice features. As far as I can tell, it's technically the better program to use, but it all boils down to preference.

Still using Notepad and MSPaint 3.1 here. Don't see any reason to update, I'm doin just fine.

Your maps must be awesome. How do you compile them?

Using binary in notepad.

Personally I would recommend google. All you need to do is type in 'really cool map that everyone will love' or something similar, then click the first link you see. It works great.

There is no reason to use GtkRadiant 1.5 anymore when NetRadiant is the same thing with useful improvements and nothing bad introduced.

The only reason I still use 1.5 is because of the shiny GUI and I can set my selected brush color to green.

Okay fine, switching over...

I've used GTKRadiant for years and only recently switched over to NetRadiant (1.5.0 r395) for a Mercy build. As far as I can tell they're the same thing except NetRadiant has some additional bug fixes and features, and the GUI is slightly different.

I have one gripe with NetRadiant though. When expanding selection to entities (eg. a func_group), I can't de-select individual brushes and then delete the remaining selected brushes (which I can do in GTKRadiant). There are work-arounds but the situation constantly pops up.

Ingar put work into making NetRadiant epicer. He wins. Use NetRadiant or fear his wrath.
