is there console commands to possible make the game look better.
I wonder if the command /r_picmip can goto negative values (changes the texture settings to be lowered or hightened with negative avules) I tried it and that didn't happen..
is there any other commands that are better. to possibly make things look better than they are?
and I know quake 3 is an old game but it's still possible right?

Well, there is a command for dynamic shadows but I'm not sure it gives a particularly good result.
Aside from that, I don't believe there really are any commands that are going to make any real difference to the graphical quality.
Though you can turn on AA by altering your graphic card settings. There is also a mod that has bloom, as well as one offering high res textures for ATCS. Have a look in 'Mods' section of the forums under 'Non-Gameplay Changing'.
But yeah, it is the idTech 3 engine, this is all you get without heavy modification.

Well, I imagine high-res textures and excessive map detail can do a thing or two. 1984 looks pretty decent above-ground IMO.

what does IMO stand for (lots of people I know use the statement/word)

"In My Opinion", eg "IMO you should have googled it instead of asking"
