Title: Colinary mass Corp. (Beta-1)

          :helmet:  This building manufactures laser artillery weapons such as luci cannon, mass driver, pulse rifle etc...
This is the head quarters of a world wide company.  
 :human: There have been some reports of random small explosions and over 2000 workers fleeing the building and not returning.
And reports of some worker's calling the tremulous team...


Features:
- large map
- new texture set from any other maps I recall from other maps in trem
- the first map from firstinaction (LOL)

INfo just unzip and place the pk3 in the folder in your base folder in tremulous.

For 1) we know what a beta is >.>
For 2) why the heck would you put the .pk3 in a .zip?!?

My comments:

- Very poor texture placement and alignment. Map can be more impressive with better texture placement.
- some brushes overlap
- pipe rails bended badly on edges
- most areas too snipeable (human-friendly)
- alien base have only one normal entrance  

ye, also pk3-zip inside zip is indeed lolly! =)
In any case you can get much better results on such amazing texture set!

re-archiving the archive does not reduce its size and only creates difficulties to the user. but you have extra files in the archive, which justifies you)

PS Two more comments. levelshot image a bit too big, and .bsp/.arena files are not Colinary-b1. This creates confusion and problems with release next versions of map.

1. Screenies show a mistextured, half-ass map
2. your grammar is astounding
3. i hate people who think they're hardcore game developers just because they made a map
4. i also hate people who think everyone is a shithead so they insist on writing directions for what we do
5. learn proper forum edicate.

Learn to release well-made, timely maps and learn to have some respect and edicate... then i might feel olbigated to at least test your map.

what he said. Also, dont make your map of to much importance (made the luci, md ETC...) you can make it so that it made ONE of the weapons, or put some backround on the map, and please dont start every post with a  :helmet: and especial failing with a:human:

example; im taking backround from kharnovs "granger in a box" story showing sirius is a desperate planet, but the sirius complex looks very organized and not ripped up, so i have a my own view of what sirius is. SinIx takes place on sirius (for B3 i may want to name the map ursa, but only very well made maps get to have the name of a constellation like orion).

One last thing; posting screenies of your map with a custom mod to make it cooler does not help. especialy if you didnt make the mod.

Hey, not the *best* map, but you have to start somewhere.  Looks pretty good for your first map.  Textures are important, so make sure those all look nice before your next release (if you plan one).  CC licensee is awesome too.  Keep up the good work, and you'll get better the more you work at it.

the only problem of the map is bad texture placement, a couple places of bad brushwork and big snipable/jettardable areas.

Thats the fun of it huh?   You got guys shooting up top and aliens shooting from the bottom. Its a war, and the map seems pretty balanced to me.
A bunch of areas were aliens can ambush humans or the other way around.

what will the aliens do? you said you gave the humans a sniping spot but aliens no major advantages.
Im not saying its a bad map. better than i can do ATM, but im working on mapping. Its actually very good in my point of view

What Tremulous have you been playing? only 1 alien can *shoot* at all, and it only gets 3 rounds to a *clip* and the *reload* is very slow.....

honestly its so far open that the gameplay is terrible, the setting is dim since the texture quality and usage is bad.


please please please, release a map that uses the texture set properly.

No really I dont appreciate all the comments like that. I understand I nee to work on the map. But I can Start the post out however I feel like it.
I can put down A hole dang 5 paragraph story If I wanted to.   So next time dont post shit that is really uncalled for.  (And Tamaru I had respect for you and then you went ahead and called me an idiot,  Man Its all good though.)    8)   Yea not really.

Yes.  
Good job on your first released map; I'll try to test this map ingame soon.  Screens look really good except for the general texture placement (looks like a decompiled .bsp :p), but that isn't a hard problem to overcome in future projects.  The brushwork and details look really good.  
Learn from the flamers and take their advice (most of them are probably just jealous anyways) and try not to be so self-righteous either. :D

Also, I hope you learned how to detail-brush.

Before starting to judge your map:
Firstly, you ain't not the best person to make replies or topics (some (or most) persons can say this)... And this is why you get flamed most of time. Get used to it, and remember to calm down, if you get flamed or someone criticized your topic heavily, and look it carefully. Never know if there is something useful.

But you're good making in models and mapping, so I'll accept mispronounced words here and there (but try still keep it readable, will ye? :).)

But to map.
Firstly, your map looks awesome (atleast fresh texture set). And like most people said, there are some texture misalign, but it is minimal.
Map is quite simple, and easy to learn, so some points on that.
And more clip on some places. There is never enough clip on some maps, anyways. But brushwork overall is excellent.


How long you made this map anyway? Mine would take weeks, even months to make this awesome. :o

thanks and it took 6 weeks probably. I got lazy for 2 weeks so It would've been 4 weeks.
