:o
C'mon people, this just cant be! How is this possible! My worldview is completely upside down! The game I wanted to play when I was 18 years old, finally is to come out?
W.T.F.!
Haha. Who's up to taking the challenge?
I remember what I was doing in '97.

Now now, DNF had nearly 15 years between releases, trem has only has 5-6 so far. And we have a public demo already.
Also, the developers of DNF dropped the project and handed it someone else, the developers of trem just decided to use existing work by other sources (Lakitu's qvm, tjw's tremded/client, tjw's and }MG{'s balance changes [which were further changed], etc).
Where the hell are Hendrich and Kaleo these days? They've got some money to throw around.

I bet Duke Nukem Forever will come out before 1.2. Prove me wrong, Devs. Prove me wrong.
I'll throw in $20, seriously, twenty whole Canadian dollars to prove you wrong over PayPal.
Its gambling time! ;D
I don't want you to prove me wrong, I want the devs to prove me wrong.
Okay....
We can still gamble, right?

Why weren't we told of this before? An extremely old quote and only now we find it?

Because sometimes you miss things?
All I know is DNF has a lot to live up to now.
If it aint perfect it, it aint worth it.

If it aint perfect it, it aint worth it.
1.2 trem is not perfect. Thus, we must abandon its development!? :]
P.S. Duke charismatic, and it's nostalgia, it does not necessarily have to be ideal.
DNF has been in development (supposedly) for 14 years now. DNF is a sequel, not an update. It's case is so famous that it's hard not to find at least a brief mention of DNF in any sort of explanation of what vaporware is. The letters themselves can stand for 'Did Not Finish'.
So, when I say "If it aint perfect it, it aint worth it" I'm talking about how DNF is a game that is defined by the fact that it will never come out. That anyone who makes a game called DNF now will be doing so because they're aware how well known it is and want to profit from that. The only way they can avoid disdain for trying to cash in on what has become part of gaming history is if the game were absolutely superb.
1.2 isn't anything like that. 5 years (at very most) in development. It's just an update to an existing game. It's less known than this forum is. There's no possibility of cashing in on an open source project.

It doesn't matter because Tremulous 1.2 will never come out.
