Sorry for flaming, but this is fairly obvious information (although 5x is hard to believe, I doubt I could get the same results with a 400mhz processor and equivalent 1/5 power graphics card and memory).

I have solved this problem in only 4 single steps:
1) Remove ATI card, trown to garbage.
2) Buy Nvidia card, and install it.
3) Install Nvidia linux drivers (need the kernel sources to compile)
4) Done!

I have solved this problem in only 4 single steps:

I would not say 5x. You have to allow for linux drivers and this is tremulous high performance is not hard to get with a decent pc. You are talking about linux in general, not windows trem vs. linux trem. .

FALCE! If this happen you are sertain to have used the rong drivars! you have to use Microsoft Certifyed Drivars Programs Drivars to use tremulas proprerly. I would be suprized if you linax's drivars are any good since they are not Ceritified.

You are wrong.. there is no GNU/Linux unless your an egotistical asshole with the initials R.S... GNU is no more important to linux than the applications that run on it. With linux GNU is possible.. calling it GNU/Linux is retarded and will make "true linux zealots" think you are as well.
... Yes.. I'm thinking this is all one person who suddenly stopped trying to post seriously and has given us all a lot of badly spelt "satyrical" spam. The Soup tag makes me think of Who..... either its his ass doing as he usually does, or its someone who doesn't care for him... my conspiracy theory.. or really there are a bunch of SOUP guys who run around saying stuff like this..

Actually, GNU was first made with the Hurd in mind, and it can indeed run on it. Linux doesn't make GNU possible. And many of the apps that run on top of it (gcc? ls? cat? dd? df? du? et-cetera) are GNU apps (GNU ls) unless the system is based on busybox.
Anyway yeah, the [SOUP] tag is very suspicious.

GNU was the operating system created by Richard Stallman and others, it was never meant to use linux as its kernel (in fact linux didn't exist when development on the GNU operating system started), then in the early 90's (?) linus came along and modified minix into what eventually became the kernel linux, GNU runs just fine without linux though, GNU has been shown to run on GNU Hurd as well as the netBSD kernel. i personally think that they would prefer people just call it GNU, but the word linux has become associated with the OS, so if they leave it out people won't know what they're talking about.

As a certain advertising campaign says, let's get the facts.
1. By the time the Linux kernel was actually useable (mid 90's) much of the core GNU project was in a mature state. There was a full ten years between the beggining of the GNU project and that of Linux.
2. Linux took the place that the HURD kernel was meant to take (HURD is the GNU project's own kernel), but, after 14 years in the making, HURD still isn't complete. The FLOSS community of the time needed a free kernel, and HURD was even more broken that it is today (yes, that is possible...) and Linux filled that need. This is when Linux began to "take off", as it were, as there was now a completely free OS. Linux kernel + GNU system.
3. Linux was and is developed using mainly GNU tools. The GNU project started in 1981 to replace the main set of standard proprietary UNIX tools of the time. Linux and apps are built with GCC and friends.
4. GNU was being used in many commercial and some free unicies a long time before Linux was around. You need a suite of tools before you can develop a kernel. GNU constituted much of that suite.
Soooo... GNU appeared first and was used to develop Linux. Linux then became a popular kernel and was distributed with the then already well-known set of GNU tools. This combination rapidly became very popular first in the community and by the late 90's in many servers (think Apache). This continues to the state Linux and GNU are in today, i.e. a commercial grade system deployed by many major businesses and organisations as a server and now even a desktop OS.
BUT, to people who bang on about "Linux made GNU possible" and "OMG!!! GNU WAS THERE FIRST LINUX WUOLDNT EXIST WITHOUT IT!!": Just stfu. They're both necessary components of an OS. Whatever the situation was in the past, just live with it. They're now mutually dependant and work well together so BE HAPPY.
Currently, GNU, Linux and apps are all just as important. The apps won't run without a kernel and system software, and a kernel and system software are useless without applications to run on them. You need a kernel (Linux), system software (GNU, etc.) and applications (Tremulous) to have a USEFUL WORKING SYSTEM.
