I've been at the forums for a while, never really made a worthwhile post just hung out in the shadows mainly. We're not a scrimming clan, Bio-Core is a community(social clan) that enjoys hosting servers across multiple games. We died for a while due to our server machine breaking beyond our ability to fix or pay to fix. We recently acquired enough donations to get a new dedi server and get some killer internet with it( 100Mbps up/down ). Luckily, we managed to keep one of our servers up through all this by paying to have it hosted.
At one time, Bio-Core was known by a different name. 2, in fact. UnlimitedBP(uBP) and another clan merged to make Bio-Core, a larger community with a common goal: hosting servers for the players that love the games. I used to love playing on all kinds of different servers; Private servers, CS:S servers, any kind of game I could play that didn't cost anything monthly to play. I'm mainly into RPGs so naturally I played MMOs the most, private servers. I quickly found out that the price for playing these servers is that the owners(not all) acted like tyrants as well as did their admins. If you would speak out of line once, perma ban. If you saw someone else get that treatment and you tried to speak out against it, perma ban. I quickly got fed up and was looking into hosting my own servers. This happened purely out of luck when I discovered Tremulous. I went around to all the different servers; KoR, Skittles, AA and a few others. I settled in uBP when it was just being put up by Laspace and had a chance opportunity to become an admin for the server. Boring story short, I because co-owner and then owner. I became co-owner of another clan and we eventually brought the 2 servers and clans together.
If you want to play on servers without the worry of abusive admins and getting random bans, kicks, or other punishments then check out our site and servers. We put up a new Trem server this morning. A comprehensive guide that teaches newbies to Trem the proper way to play, build, and Trem etiquette is coming out soon in an attempt for uBP to stop spewing out such underdeveloped buildable spamming players which gives uBP such a bad reputation and try to better the new players so the community of Tremulous is bettered as a whole.
Our website can be found here (http://www.bio-core.net). We hope that the reputation that our uBP server has gotten as a modded server that ruins skillful play is helped somewhat with the release of our new Tremulous server, a pure(hardcore) Vanilla server. Great gameplay with no mods or gameplay changes cluttering up the fun that got Tremulous started.

No GPP?

Please tell me you don't mean using SVN from '06.

No GPP?
There's no uBP on GPP. And because of this, all of the noobs and pollacks haven't ported over to GPP. ::)

There's no uBP on GPP.
If only that were true.

No GPP?
No GPP yet. We're planning on getting a uBP server in 1.2 very soon, but we're not expecting too much from it.

lol no, using Lakitu's 5.3 QVM. Just letting people know this Vanilla server will not be modded in the slightest.

Oh, I wouldn't say that.

Please don't, please just learn to build within the intended limitations of the game, if all you're going to do is fuck around in UBP then you may as well stick to 1.1

I plan to put up a uBP server on 1.2, not because I like playing with unlimited build points but because uBP, the server, has been around a long time and I want it to be in the new Trem. You have to respect that players have different tastes. Some like playing with the limited build points and some like to play with unlimited build points. If you don't like it, and this goes without saying, but you really don't have to play on it.
I didn't make this thread so I could continue to hear how people dislike modded Trem servers, I'm quite well aware of that fact. I made this thread so people could be aware of Bio-Core and the many servers we host and plan to host. I, for one, like to give the playerbase of a game more options than just playing within the set gameplay configurations, but not to the extreme extent that X does.

Finally some clan with brain :)

The biggest problem I've had with uBP is that there isn't any combat once the bases get built up enough. For some reason, fucktards sit in their base as if its going to die as soon as they leave it.

In GPP that's exactly what's going to happen, because these cretins don't have a clue how to build, they just go for the highest structure density possible, zap or nade rushes are devastating.
-
who cares if they think 'lets just fit in as many turrets as we can in the base'. if u dont like what they do then dont play with them. simple as.
-
Obviously it's fine for people to make whatever servers they want. It's just much easier to dislike such servers in a game that's pretty much dead and scattered and grows even more scattered and dead through them creating such servers.

Good point

Our uBP server is far from dead. As with the other popular servers, such as AA, players connected to our servers ebb and flow with the time of the day.

hi adeya, good luck.

I remember a lot of you from the uBP server, good luck!
